Description

Bavaria. Ludwig I "Customs Union" Taler 1833 MS65 NGC, Munich mint, KM762, Dav-569, AKS-128, Thun-61. Struck to commemorate the formation of a customs union between Prussia, Saxony, Hessen, and Thuringia. Wholly Gem Mint State, the obverse booming with frosty luster and fully struck-up devices, the reverse decorated in Prooflike appearances throughout, displaying glassy fields laden with die polish and a gentle honeyed lavender tone. Of rare quality, tied for the second finest with one other at NGC, and bested by a single example one grade-point high. From the Cape Coral Collection of German Coins, Part I
