CAPPADOCIA. Caesarea. Nero (AD 54-68). AR hemidrachm (15mm, 12h). NGC Choice Fine, scratches. Ca. AD 59-60. NERO CLAVD DIVI CLAVD F CAESAR AVG GERMANI, laureate head of Nero right / ARME-NIA C, Victory advancing right, wreath upward in right hand, palm in left over shoulder. Sydenham, Caesarea 81. RPC I 3644. The legend "Armenia C[apta]" on the reverse refers to the successful campaign of Gnaeus Domitius Corbulo in Armenia. Corbulo captured the two major Armenian cities, including the capital, and was able to install a new king of Armenia more loyal to Rome.
