Hunan. Kuang-hsü copper Specimen Pattern 10 Cash ND (1902-1906) XF Details (Corrosion Removed) PCGS, KM-Pn5, CL-HUN.97, Duan-705, Hsu (Copper)-Unl., HNS-Unl. Variety with rectangular petals on rosettes and short-stroke Yuan. An appealing rendition of this fleeting Pattern that proves exceptionally challenging in finer states of preservation, with minor roughness to the obverse (reverse as holdered) surfaces observed on account of its noted removed corrosion. The piece otherwise fields a fairly honest degree of wear, with notable marks, aside to one to the left of Kuang, being few and far between. We would note that while this coin clearly shows the squared-off rosette petals of CL-HUN.95 and CL-HUN.97, the tail of Yuan is much shorter than either, appearing closer to CL-HUN.98.
