Description

Qing Dynasty. Yunnan Sanchuo Jieding ("Three-Stamp Remittance") "Packsaddle" Sycee of 5-1/2 Taels ND (19th-20th Century) Certified AU58 by Gong Bo Grading, cf. Cribb-Class LXVI.I, Assayer Mark E4. 51x32mm. 189.0gm. Cast at Yuanruixiang Bank, inspected by assayer Tong. Each of the three main stamps reads: "Yuan Rui Xiang Ji Hui Hao Wen Yin" (Yuanruixiang Bank, remittance bank fine silver), and the assayer stamps read: "Guan Gong Gu Tong Kan" (Inspected by official public assayer Tong). A very attractive packsaddle with deeply impressed stamps and minimal surface marks. Highly enticing as an issuing bank unrecorded by Cribb in the British Museum Collection.
