Republic Yuan Shih-kai gold Fantasy 5 Dollars Year 1 (1916)-Dated UNC Details (Cleaned) PCGS, KM-X1370, Kann-Unl. (cf. Kann-B93 for obverse, Kann-B99 for reverse), WS-Unl., Wenchao-1206, SHI-Unl. Portraying Yuan Shih-kai as Emperor Hung-hsien. An utterly fleeting gold Fantasy, with this representing just the second such example we have ever handled, this pairing of dies completely unlisted by Kann and missing from both the Farouk and Goodman collections in gold. Though extremely faint, unidirectional hairlines are discernible over the obverse in-line with the certification, these do not extend to the reverse, which appears flashy and wholly original, replete with fine die polish.
