An honestly, if lightly, circulated example of this famous type, produced during a period of tension between the governments in Wuchang and Nanking, each of which claimed to be the "true" Republic of China. Bathed in an even stone-gray tone, close examination of the fields reveals patches of die tooling marks, suggesting an effort to refurbish older dies. Regardless a quite pleasing coin, and highly appreciable quality for the issue.
