Description

Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) AU53 PCGS, Wuchang mint, KM-Y321, L&M-45, Kann-639, Chang-CH233, WS-0090, Wenchao-851 (rarity 1 star). Type without hat. An honestly, if lightly, circulated example of this famous type, produced during a period of tension between the governments in Wuchang and Nanking, each of which claimed to be the "true" Republic of China. Bathed in an even stone-gray tone, close examination of the fields reveals patches of die tooling marks, suggesting an effort to refurbish older dies. Regardless a quite pleasing coin, and highly appreciable quality for the issue.
