Kweichow. Republic "Auto" Dollar Year 17 (1928) XF Details (Mount Removed, Cleaned) NGC, Chengdu mint, KM-Y428, L&M-609, Kann-757e, WS-1109, Wenchao-1062 (rarity 2 stars). Two blades of grass variety. A trademark issue of Kweichow, one of only two collectible Dollar issues from the province, almost exclusively witnessed with conditional qualifiers as seen here. Regardless, the coin at hand remains extremely popular and despite evidence of a past cleaning, displaying ample remnant detail throughout, having developed an attractive steely patina and scant traces of originality via silty silhouettes to the legends. An affordable example sure to entice type collectors of the series.
