Great Britain Bank of England, London 1000 Pounds 15.11.1933 Pick 334 B234 PMG Choice Very Fine 35. High denomination notes from the Bank of England are very scarce, as the German forgery ring "Operation Bernhard" initiated the policy to limit English notes to 50 Pounds. This variation was issued through London and features the signature of Basil G. Cattens. The incredible purchasing power of this uniface note certainly forced the redemption of all but a scant few examples. A few pinholes are mentioned for accuracy. A key note for England one of only two notes offered in the past decade. Iconic and very rare.
