EASTERN EUROPE. Uncertain Celtic Tribe. Ca. 4th-3rd centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (28mm, 14.18 gm, 4h). NGC XF 5/5 - 3/5. Imitating types of Philip II of Macedon, copying Amphipolis. Laureate head of Zeus right / ΦIΛΙΠΠ-OΥ, nude youth seated on horse trotting right, reins in left hand, palm in right; EY monogram below horse, dolphin right below foreleg. Cf. Göbl, OTA pl. 4, type 10. Lanz -. CCCBM -. Variety unpublished in the standard references. Note - the two symbols are both secondary in the prototypes for the series where they each appear under the foreleg with the main symbol Λ above race torch under the horse.
