LOWER DANUBE. Imitating Thasos. 2nd-1st centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.58 gm, 11h). NGC Choice Fine 5/5 - 2/5, edge bends. After 146 BC. Head of Dionysus right, crowned with ivy, wearing mitra (cloth headband) / ΗPAΚΛΕΟYΣ / ΣΩTΗΡΟΣ / ΘAΣIΩN, Heracles, nude, standing facing, head left, left arm draped with lion skin, resting right hand on grounded club; MH monogram in left inner field.
