Valens, Eastern Roman Empire (AD 364-378). AV 1.5-scripulum or 9-siliquae (15mm, 1.62 gm, 5h). NGC Fine 5/5 - 1/5, repaired. Antioch, AD 367-368. D N VALENS-P F AVG, pearl-diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valens right, seen from front / VICTORIA AVGVSTORVM, Victory seated right on cuirass, shield behind, supporting on left knee a shield inscribed VOT / X / MVLT XX in four lines; small winged genius standing left before, supporting the shield with both hands; AN in exergue.
