Philip II Cob 8 Reales 1590 S-D XF40 NGC, Seville mint, Cal-729, Cay-4031. 27.17gm. Variety with denomination written in retrograde (IIIV). Among the clearest-struck examples of this scarce date Cob 8 Reales, which was struck alongside Philip's early milled coinage. In spite of localized portions of flatness towards the margins, this fortunately does little to hinder the legibility of those parts of the legend which do occur on the flan. Ex.
