LOWER DANUBE. Imitating Thasos. 2nd-1st centuries BC. AR tetradrachm (33mm, 11h). NGC VF, bent, scratches. After 146 BC. Head of Dionysus right, crowned with ivy, wearing mitra (cloth headband) / ΗPAΚΛΕΟYΣ / ΣΩTΗΡΟΣ / ΘAΣIΩN (corrupted legend), Heracles, nude, standing facing, head left, left arm draped with lion skin, resting right hand on grounded club; HI monogram in left inner field. OTA class III.
