CILICIA. Tarsus. Ca. late 5th-4th centuries BC. AR stater (26mm, 10.27 gm, 6h). NGC Choice Fine 4/5 - 2/5, test cuts, countermark. Ca. 425-400 BC. Persian Satrap (or King of Cilicia) on galloping horse right, dotted border / TRZ (Aramaic), naked hoplite kneeling right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet, spear in right hand, shield in left; monogram behind; all in shallow incuse square dotted border. Cf. SNG France 2, 215-217 (no monogram behind).
