Louis XV gold Louis d'Or Mirliton 1725-T AU58 NGC, Nantes mint, cf. KM470.19 (date unlisted), Dup-1638, Gad-339 (R4), L4L-Unl. Large palms variety. A superbly fleeting selection, presently standing as the sole example certified by NGC, and the only we have ever encountered. Notably missing from Les monnaies des quatre Roi Louis though listed by Gadoury, we would note that the latter records a single sales record for this mint-date (St. James's Auction 21, April 2012, Lot 595). Strikingly lustrous throughout, cartwheel effects abound on this piece, with watery texture welling in the outer registers.
