Louis XIII 1/4 Ecu 1643-A MS64 NGC, Paris mint, KM134.1, Gad-48 (R2), Dup-1351. Draped and cuirassed bust, rose variety. An impeccable specimen bathed in an abundance of mint bloom atypical of these issues, lit ablaze by even the most subtle turn of the wrist, illuminating tangerine-tinged argent surfaces beneath. The current representative ranks near the very peak of the major grading party's censuses, and is one of only five MS64 1/4 Ecus from Louis XIII's reign certified with only a single half-point finer.
