M. Aemilius Scaurus and P. Plautius Hypsaeus (ca. 58 BC). AR/AE fourree denarius (18mm, 1h). NGC Choice VF. Ancient forgery of M. Aemilius Scaurus and P. Plautius Hypsaeus denarius. M•SCAVR / AED•CVR, kneeling figure right, olive branch upward in right hand, reins of camel standing right beside him in left; EX-S•C across fields, REX ARETAS in exergue / P•HVPSAEV / AED CVR, Jupiter in fast quadriga left, reins in left hand and hurling thunderbolt with right; CAPTV behind, C HVPSAE COS / PREIVE below.
