BRUTTIUM. Croton. Ca. 350-300 BC. AR/AE fourree stater (21mm, 6.65 gm, 9h). NGC VF 5/5 - 2/5, scratches. Ancient forgery of Croton stater. Eagle standing left, head raised, wings displayed, gripping hare in talons / KPO, tripod with legs terminating in lion's feet; heron standing left on Δ in right field. Cf. HN Italy 2175 for prototype. Cf. SNG ANS 369 (same).
