Commonwealth gold Crown 1653/1/0 UNC Details (Private Countermark) NGC, Tower mint, Sun mm, KM393., S-3212, N-2719. 2.32gm. A most pleasing rendition of this small gold issue, rarely found in as pleasing a level of preservation and visual character as seen here. Despite the presence of an "M" countermark, almost certainly applied contemporaneously to the coin's creation, the present example is laden with ample mint brilliance washing across fully struck central devices effortlessly, highlighting prominent notes of tangerine and amber that have evolved across this treasure's surfaces.
