Louis XV gold Louis d'Or de Noailles 1717-A UNC Details (Obverse Cleaned) NGC, Paris mint, KM428.1 (listed as 2 Louis d'Or), Gad-344 (R), Dup-1630. Exceptionally popular as a type both for its iconic imagery and short mintage run, which saw production over just three years. Owing to the use of extra heavy-weight planchets, the Louis d'Or de Noailles is frequently confused with the Double Louis. Though cleaned over the obverse, the reverse is nearly pristine, presenting essentially gem appearances.
