Dombes. Anne Marie Louise d'Orleans 1/2 Ecu 1673-A AU55 NGC, Trévoux mint, KM45, PdA-5220, Boudeau-1093, Dup-3006A, Divo-224. A rare type in general, particularly in conditionally better states, with most coming very heavily circulated. Positioned atop the NGC census, we would note that we have offered only one previously--a comparatively modest VF30--which brought $1140 in our April 2019 Central States sale. Graced with an even gunmetal patina, the offering admits just the lightest flan adjustments over the reverse shield and along Anne's hair, though in neither of these areas do that jump out at the viewer or winder an appreciation of the designs.
