Merovingian. Anonymous gold Tremissis ND (c. AD 580-670) Good XF, Coraria (?) mint, Arimundus as moneyer, MEC I-Unl., Prou-Unl., Belfort-1636. 17mm. 1.05gm. CORARIA X, Imperial-style diademed bust left / +ARIMVNDI, cross potent on stand, pellet to either side. An issue of very fine workmanship within the broader Merovingian series, containing essentially full legends over both sides. Unrecorded by Grierson and Blackburn or Prou, Belfort notes only two types from the mysterious mint of Coraria, and cites an example in the Cabinet de France, likely minted from the same dies based on his line drawings. Very rare.
