Charles & Johanna "Late Series" 4 Reales ND (1542-1555) M-G MS61 NGC, Mexico City mint, KM0018, Cal-127, Nesmith-34. 12.51gm. An attractive and decidedly Mint State representative of this "late series" type, dressed in a uniform slate patina fully enveloping boldly struck central devices, while the peripheries remain light as is common for these early hammered issues. A truly pleasing example, scarce in anything resembling Mint State, with only 4 presently certified finer between the major grading services.
