Frankfurt. Free City "Reformation" 1/2 Taler 1717-IIF MS64 PCGS, KM182, Whiting-171. Struck in celebration of the 200th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation, with a design that was also adopted for a number of other denominations in both gold and silver. This is the first example of the 1/2 Taler denomination that we have encountered, and a highly gratifying representative thereof, featuring gleaming underlying luster and a balanced steel patina yielding notes of iridescence.
