British Colony. George III Proof Penny 1807 PR63 Brown PCGS, Soho mint, KM1, Prid-3. Engrailed edge. A minimally available Proof issue originally intended as a "restrike" using the reverse dies of 1806, developing a choice deep mahogany patination across glossy surfaces. While the original Diana Collection lot description describing perhaps 5 known may have been a little low, we note that the actual figure may be only slightly larger, with the offering appearing nicer than either the Rudman or Roehrs examples. Ex. Diana Collection, Part 2 (Baldwin's Auction 58, September 2008, Lot 1205)
