High denomination Australian issues during the Shillings / Pounds era are very rare, with this note being an important offering in the series. Matching serif font for the prefix Y and serial number indicate that this note was issued around 1920 and is therefore not the more recent variety that was issued in the 1940s. Extremely rare as such, the note's desirability is heightened by its EPQ status and excellent visual appeal. This is the plate note for the Australia chapter of The Banknote Book and it has a storied pedigree.
