LYDIAN KINGDOM. Alyattes or Croesus (ca. 610-546 BC). AR 1/48 stater (5mm). NGC Choice VF. Head of lion right / Irregular incuse square. SNG Ashmolean –; SNG Tatiṣ 920 (uncertain Western Asia Minor). Although not traditionally associated with Lydian kingdom, the style of the lion on this type matches with that on other contemporary Lydian denominations.
