China People's Bank of China 1 Yuan 1953 Pick 866 Two Consecutive Examples PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ; Gem Uncirculated 65 EPQ. A vibrant consecutive set, these notes are enhanced by an image of the Great Hall. The red-inked 1 Yuan of 1953, issued in 1955, was replaced by a steel grey, black, and orange note dated 1956, and issued in 1961, rendering this first type the scarcer of the two. Outstanding original qualities are easily seen on this beautiful, enormously popular type.
