China People's Republic 5 Fen 1953 Pick 862a S/M#C283-3 PMG Superb Gem Unc 69 EPQ. A pleasant vignette of a steam ship is featured on the front of this small denomination. Chinese, Mongolian, Tibetan and Uyghur text surround the National emblem of the PRC which enhances the back. This scarcer variety with both Roman control numbers was issued for only a few years before being replaced by block number only notes starting in the 1960s. Decorative guilloche designs and deep black inks on a light green undertone create a sharp visual on this high grade note.
