CARIA. Mylasa. Ca. 175-150 BC. AR tetradrachm (25mm, 8.87 gm, 12h). NGC Choice AU 4/5 - 2/5, edge chips, flan flaw. Struck in May. M-Y, rose with bud on tendril to right; bunch of grapes in left field / Eagle standing right on palm branch, wings spread; IA-A across upper fields, ΔA to right of eagle's legs. SNG von Aulock 2863 var. (reverse field marks). SNG Kayhan 842 var. (same) From the Ed's Treasures Collection Very few of these coins have come to light. They are highly interesting because they show the month of issue, but unfortunately not the year. ΔA is the abbreviation for the month of ΔAIΣΙΟΣ (=May) in the Macedonian calendar.
