Cilician Armenia. Gosdantin III Countermarked Takvorin ND (1344-1363) VF Details (Holed) NGC, 1.79gm. The countermark that appears on the reverse of this coin (the Star of David or Seal of Solomon) is known from the Beylik of Ala'iye (cf. AL-32), the period of the Turkish Beyliks overlapping temporarily with the reign of Gosdantin. Indeed, the motif is well-known from the Beylik across its wider coinage (cf. Artuk-1361-1362).
