Central American Republic 8 Reales 1847/6 NG-A MS63 NGC, Nueva Guatemala mint, KM4, WR-11, Elizondo-107, Stickney-C92. Striking and brilliant to say the least, coupling a Prooflike flashiness about the fields with an overall medallic execution to produce an issue of supreme quality. The reverse deserves special mention on its own merit, thick die polish cloaking the fields while hardly a feature of the design is left underexpressed. While Mint State examples occasionally become available, pieces at this level are a truly special find, with the highest base grade NGC has yet awarded being an MS65.
