Republic gold Counterstamped 1/2 Escudo ND (1849-1857) VF30 NGC, San Jose mint, KM80, Stickney-C431. Displaying Type VII round lion counterstamp with legend HABILITADA PO EL GOBIERNO (VF Standard) on the obverse and reverse of a Central American Republic 1/2 Escudo 1847 CR-JB (cf. KM13). A well-circulated issue which retains good integral details with few stray marks of any consequence. Mislabeled on the holder as a Type VI countermark.
