Likely the last variety struck of this sought-after and unusual denomination, with this variety having the unique distinction of a denomination indicated by bars and not pearls. Surely an interesting type with higher than average eye appeal, lacking granularity from saltwater damage that many times accompanies these issues. Despite the noted scratch to the obverse and instances of die shift, the piece at hand is quite attractive with its allover steely appearances and choice cornflower-blue patination.
