Description

Brunswick-Lüneburg-Celle. Christian Ludwig 1-1/2 Taler 1661-LW XF40 NGC, Clausthal mint, KM251.2, Dav-LS170. 64mm. Lippold Wefer as mintmaster. With value stamp "1 1/2" on reverse. A visually intriguing issue struck in celebration of the lodes and production at the Harz mines, where a significant amount of silver for circulating coinage originated. Wholly enveloped in a smooth, pewter patination across evenly and moderately worn devices. Ex. Doug Robins Collection
