Republic gold 100 Francs 1894-A MS60 NGC, Paris mint, KM832, Fr-590, Gad-1137. Mintage: 143. The cornerstone date of the circulation-series 100 Francs, produced from 1878 through 1906. With only 143 specimens struck in total, the date remains one that is out of reach for the majority of modern French gold collectors, proving fiercely contested when located at auction. The present piece maintains its full Mint State condition and displays fine ranks of die polish lines in the open expanses alongside voluminous aurous luster that beams brightly at the beholder upon rotation in hand. One of only a few examples of this key issue that we have handled in our history, and one that simply cannot be ignored by the advanced collector.
