Republic gold 8 Escudos 1861/50 Go-PF MS61 NGC, Guanajuato mint, KM383.7, cf. Onza-1971 (stated as 1861/60). A comparatively scarce overdate among the emissions of the Guanajuato mint, this being one of the finest we have offered, with just a single MS62 graded more highly at NGC and one MS63 at PCGS. Despite some light hairlining to the hand and book, both faces appear nearly Prooflike in overall finish. Considerably finer than the Gerber example--called a "very fine, cleaned"--with this overdate entirely missing from the Norweb Collection.
