Charles II gold Cob 2 Escudos ND (1694-1713) MS63 NGC, Bogota mint, KM14.2, Cal-Type 151, Restrepo-Type M66. 6.84gm. From the 1715 Plate Fleet. A soundly struck representative of this classically crude Cob type, exhibiting near-perfect centering even given its generally irregular flan. Despite omitting the entirety of its legends, those details which did find their mark are rendered in a very sharp fashion, with bold die polish lines residing prominently around the reverse cross.
