Description

Alfonso XII 5 Pesetas 1875(75) DE-M MS64+ NGC, Madrid mint, KM671, Dav-339, Cal-35. A spectacular offering imbued with a level of originality not typically associated with this issue. The devices are decidedly razor sharp, the fields radiant and watery, and the motifs gently frosted, just a small contact mark above the sitter's head and truncation of the neck limiting the coin from loftier designations. Currently, this coin is second only to an unfathomable MS66. Ex. Hispania Collection (Áureo & Calicó Auction #228, October 2010, Lot 95)
