Rio de la Plata 8 Reales 1836 RA-P MS64 NGC, La Rioja mint, KM20, Elizondo-20, Janson-37. An unusually choice representative with razor-sharp features, a characteristic rarely seen on these sun-face 8 Reales, especially to the reverse design in the hands and Phrygian cap, even in higher tiers of preservation. Near-gem with lustrous, argent surfaces populated by traces of intertwining die rust and flow lines, dressed in a lovely golden glow, this specimen might be even more attractive than our offering in May, the other MS64 in the census. Only a single piece bests our current coin by a mere half point, making this an elusive opportunity to own one of the finest 8 Reales from this series. Ex.
