Despite the fairly unremarkable appearances on its face, the coin at hand is certainly a special piece, overstruck on a Mexico "Hookneck" 8 Reales 1823 Mo-JM, featuring easily discernible legends and prominent design motifs, including the eagle's head to the reverse. A truly fascinating issue.
