João VI 960 Reis 1821-R AU53 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM326.1, LMB-479. Struck over a Chile "Volcano" Peso 1821 (cf. KM82.2). A usually quite inconspicuous date-mint combination for João VI's 960 Reis which climbs significantly in rarity when found with this host--one not only scarce in general as an undercoin within the series, but also a very fleeting date among the Chilean Volcano Pesos. As such, one sure to pique the interests of the specialized collector.
