John II Comnenus (AD 1118-1143). AV hyperpyron (31mm, 4.36 gm, 6h). NGC MS 5/5 - 2/5, graffiti, crimped. Constantinople. Christ seated facing on backless throne, wearing nimbus cruciger, pallium and colobium, raising hand in benediction, book of Gospels cradled in left; IC-XC (barred) across fields, double border / +Iw / ΔЄC/ΠOT/TW/Π-ΘV/PO/ΓЄ/NH/T (NH ligate), John II (on left), standing facing, wearing loros, labarum in right hand, akakia in left, crowned by nimbate Virgin (on right), standing facing, wearing pallium and maphorium; MΘ (barred) above, double border.
