Description

Republic Li Yuan-hung Dollar ND (1912) MS65 NGC, Wuchang mint, KM-Y320, L&M-43, Kann-638b, WS-0089A. Type with Li Yuan-hung wearing hat, and traces of reworking on OF from OE. Doubled reverse die. Immensely appealing to say the least and a type which benefits hugely from its gem certification, die polish detectable filling the fields and embellishing the whole of the piece with an icy, mint "fresh" appearance. The scarcer of the two principle bust types employed on Li Yuan-hung's coinage, this emission from his tenure as Vice President of the Republic of China is presently outranked by a mere 4 pieces across NGC and PCGS combined, and those only by a hair's breadth (two MS65+'s, and two MS66's). Easily the nicest example we have presented and an ideal selection for the condition-minded type collector.
