The price of silver rose significantly during the World War I years, and after, which caused silver coinage to be hoarded. Small change notes were issued throughout the world to address coin shortages to aid small transactions. This rare 25 Cents note is surprisingly rare in all grades, but it is a real prize in About Uncirculated grade. Minor corner damage is mentioned for accuracy. These desirable and rare small change notes were not often saved for posterity, explaining why so few exist today.
