Japan Greater Japan Imperial National Bank, Tokyo 1 Yen ND (1873) Pick 10 PMG Very Fine 20. A well preserved Tokyo Branch #15 example, this piece is from the 1873 Convertible Issue. These banknotes were printed in New York by the Continental Banknote Company. This lovely example features the duel vignettes of the mythical warrior Kamitsukeno no Taji and an ancient warship on the front and a large vignette representing the 13th century Mongol invasions of Japan on the back. The third party grading company mentions repaired and discoloration.
