Beautiful olive, brown, and yellow hues replace the mostly red and blue inks used on the issued notes of this design. 1972 is the first date for this design, which was the first total redesign of the HSBC $100 since the 1920s. Red overprints on each side and two hole punched cancellations are seen. Typical mount remnants are noted on the holder. We have not offered this type in the past. This is the first example offered in any major auction since 2019. Quite rare and a stunning creation by Bradbury, Wilkinson & Company.
