China People's Bank of China 1 Yuan 1949 Pick 812a S/M#C282-20 PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ. The 1 Yuan denomination of the 1949 is scarce and popular with collectors. As inflation raged, this smallest denomination was quickly rendered worthless. Only two different 1 Yuan designs were issued, which was significantly fewer than those of most other denominations. Examples are rare in this grade. At the time of cataloging, no finer graded examples have been offered in a traceable public auction. This interesting type is worthy of consideration.
