Issued in 1935, this series was short lived, as King George V passed away in 1936, which initiated the creation of a new banknote series to reflect the passage of one monarch to the next. In 1937, these notes were replaced and most examples were redeemed in the years to follow. Truly uncirculated examples are not frequently encountered.
