Sigismund gold Goldgulden ND (1387-1437) MS64 NGC, Buda mint, Fr-9, Husz-572, CNH-118, Lengyel-Unl. 3.53gm. • S • LADISL | AVS • RЄX, crowned, nimbate, mantled figure of St. Ladislaus standing facing, axe in right hand, orb in left; I-V to either side / +SIGISmVnDI • D • G • R • VnGARIЄ, quartered shield. Supremely lustrous, this near-gem is sharply struck and well-centered, and offers the viewer a tremendous degree of eye appeal. Interestingly, although the initials I-V are recorded by Huszar, they are not noted by Lengyel, who only documents V-I (Lengyel-17/5).
